A spray bottle in a mushroom kit is a confession. It means the block has been cut open and is now losing water faster than it can hold it, and you have been handed the job of putting that water back twice a day for three weeks.
Our bags are not cut. The filter patch on the front runs gas exchange at exactly the rate the block wants, and the substrate is mixed to field capacity before it is ever sterilised, so the water for the entire first flush is already inside the bag on the day it ships. Spraying the outside of a sealed bag wets your shelf and nothing else.
The trade is real and we will state it plainly. A cut and misted block, babysat by somebody who knows what they are doing, can out-yield a sealed one. What it cannot do is out-yield a sealed one that is being looked after by somebody who is at work all day and forgets. We optimised for the second person, because that is nearly everybody.
